Finding Peace in Wayanad
Jesse Power’s Journey from Stage to Stillness
Jesse, a solar system of love.
In this fast-paced world dominated by endless tours, constant stage performances, and daily activation on social media, an Ohio-based singer-songwriter, Jesse Power, found herself in something deeper – a kind of pause which no standing ovation can give. She shares her music at country-wide spiritual gatherings and in the Unity and Centres for Spiritual Living communities and often graces stages, living rooms, and backyards with her live solo concerts.
Jesse performs live concerts and shares her music at spiritual events and Unity and Centres for Spiritual Living communities. She has collaborated with thought leaders like Eddie Watkins Jr and Gary Lynn Floyd. Her song “The LoveSong of Everything” received a nomination and was a finalist in the Great American Song Contest. She released her debut album in 2017 and her second full-length album in 2021.
In February 2022, Jesse took a transformational trip to the TGG farm in Wayanad, India, taking a week off from loud stage performances to see the beauty of farms and greenery in India, which would reset her from the old patterns she was living in.

An Alternative Type of Stage

Jesse entered a completely new type of performance at TGG Farm, one that was orchestrated by nature itself. With the aroma of moist soil rising with the sun, mornings started with yoga on the deck. Simple yet meaningful activities occupied the afternoons, such as picking avocados, studying traditional farming methods, and hand-washing clothes in the sun’s warm rays.
She never left the guitar by her side. She frequently found herself sitting by the lily pond, strumming tunes while listening to the birds, the tea fields, and the unending sky. Here, music was a dialogue with the soul rather than a performance tactic or a career move.
Later, Jesse thought, “I could finally hear myself again.” “Unplugging, simplifying life, and listening to that have a powerful effect.”
Deep dive into rural rhythms.
These are the things Jesse does while camping in Wayanad:
Morning yoga on the deck: She does yoga after waking up in the morning, which makes her energetic, calm, and peaceful.
Singing/Playing guitar by the lily pond: She sings and plays near the lily pond in the morning to practise in the peaceful environment, which makes her happy.
Strolling through rows of tea bushes: Tea plantations in TGG farms are so good that she got mesmerized there, and she started strolling down the rows of tea bushes.
Watching the village kids run and play: There she also watches village kids run and play, which isn’t a sight in cities of the USA, and seeing that makes her happy and lost in the beauty and culture of not only Wayanad but India also.

The astounding sunsets: There are sunsets in Ohio, also, but not like the sunsets of Indian Villages with lots of peace, calmness, stability, and greenery.
The birds in the morning: The most beautiful yet peaceful scene of every morning in the village is waking up without an alarm, but by listening to birds chirping in the morning and seeing them in the sky, roaming around. All blue sky with quietness in the surroundings, just lots of birds moving here and there, chirping; it’s the most natural music she has ever heard.
The green, everywhere! And the most scenic look of TGG farms was that it was green everywhere; wherever the eyes go, it’s green there, with lots of plants, trees, and farming everywhere. This makes the eyes stable and relaxes them from the lights of mobiles and those stadium lights, which give the eyes tension. These green environments relax her eyes and her soul very much.
The amazing food: The thing that India is famous for is its diverse culture and its diversified food, with a lot of love and respect. She was in love with the food at TGG Farm. As she eats the food cooked by the villagers themselves, which was handmade and made with love, respect, dignity, and service to guests. As for Indians, “Serving our cultural food to our guests is our utmost duty, as guests are our God. It’s the reason the food becomes tastier for her.
Learning some farming techniques: While she was in TGG farms, she learned farming techniques like plowing, seeding, and watering. She also digs her hand in the rich Wayanad soil and feels nature.
Learning to wash my clothes by hand: As she was born and brought up in a high-tech society, her clothes were washed in a washing machine; she never washed them by her hand, but when she comes to TGG farms she learns to wash her clothes by her hand, and she feels proud of learning new skills.
Learning to harvest avocado: The foreign fruit avocado, which is now grown and harvested in Wayanad, takes time to learn how a fruit or a plant is grown; she learns to harvest avocado, which makes her happy that she knows how much time and effort it takes to grow and harvest a fruit.
Trying new fruits: She also tries new fruits that aren’t available in the USA; she tries those fruits and is mesmerized by why they aren’t available in the USA. Some fruits are black plum, litchi, Indian Gooseberry (a good source of vitamin C and an Ayurvedic herb), jackfruit, and tamarin tea gardens, coffee plantations, and plantations of many other spices, which d. These fruits mesmerised her by taste and looks. TGG farms also haveshe saw for the first time.
From performance to being present in every moment
In Ohio, Jesse was caught in the momentum of performance, touring, and constant motion. But when she came to Wayanad in TGG farms, which has plantations of tea, coffee, and many other spices with beautiful trees and Airbnb, she found an undefinable pause; as she felt time stretch, she became still in chaos, and her inner voice became louder. This journey with TGG gave her clarity not only on her music but also about the meaning, purpose, and life she truly wanted. The farm and its surroundings made Jesse question herself, and she thought, What was she rushing for from these long years? What did true success mean?
In this quiet Wayanad evening, away from the fast-paced chaos of the world, she realised that she was present in every moment fully, undistracted, and that is the real prize.
Thinking of a hustle-free life.
Jesse, inspired by the week she spent at, began to think of a life beyond the hustle; she is now one grounded in flow, learning, and consciously living. She went back to the USA with a deep seed planted within her. She is taking another Journey with TGG travel experience with her friends,
The Call to Stillness.
Jesse Power’s story is an inspiration that sometimes, amidst this life of hustle, every person needs a pause. We have to step away from our homes to learn something new. Her time in Wayanad wasn’t just an escape; it was a return. Return to rhythm, to earth, and meaning.
